Every project lately has been experimental in trying to find my personal style with painting. I never feel “there,” but this piece really directed me into a process that I enjoy, that challenges me, but also keeps me from perfectionism- something that typically pushes me to abandon projects forever. Because I spend so many hours with each painting, it’s hard not to get emotionally attached to them by the end. Whirlwind will always be special to me because it represents a time in my young adulthood where everything feels chaotic. I’ve never had much interest in portraying these feelings through illustrations of myself or people, but animals always make my perfect muses. Thanks for viewing!
